MUSIC

Historically Vineyard Music has left deep impressions upon the contemporary worship music scene across the Christian world. With songs like This is the Air I breathe, Come now is the time to Worship, Holy and Anointed One among countless others, the contribution that Vineyard Music has made to the worship scene world wide is substantial and filled with life.

For a season that voice, even though not silent, has faded into the background and whilst music has been produced it has not born the kind of fruit that was initially a hallmark of Vineyard Music. In the light of our waning star the question has been asked… is God done with Vineyard Music? The answer is a resounding NO! God is not done with Vineyard Music because God is not done with the Vineyard. Whilst the life of God is flowing within our congregations there are songs to be written, music to be composed and albums to be produced. Vineyard Music South Africa has been reborn from that heart attitude. “LORD, I have heard the report of what you did; I am awed, LORD, by what you accomplished. In our time repeat those deeds; in our time reveal them again.” (Habakkuk 3:2.)

Our first musical offering was produced in Port Elizabeth South Africa under the banner “Singing our Stories”. Songs from this album is being sung in churches across our nation and we are preparing to release “Singing our Stories” Volume 2 later this year. Whilst this is happening, Ricky Venter is travelling to churches within the Vineyard network to inspire vision and train modern day worshipers with a now word from God deeply rooted in the values that have made Vineyard music successful but calling congregations to find their particular voice and unique expression to worship our Father in spirit and truth. We are currently networking churches together and creating infrastructure to facilitate future growth in a very relational manner. So watch this space for a link to our page where you’ll be able to share ideas, download music and sheet music and connect with the wider movement. Till then keep writing.
